To improve the success of exploration drilling, improved technologies for processing and interpreting seismic data were gradually implemented. Novel ways to account for upper-column inhomogeneities are utilized to reduce forecast error for structures. At the design stage, finite-difference modeling of the wave field is used to determine the best seismic survey parameters. The development of resource potential and the rational development of subsoil resources, with strict observance of environmental safety standards and the widespread introduction of modern technologies is one of the key priorities of the Company.

Priority Oil & Gas has made significant progress in exploration, identifying 30 fields and 162 new discoveries with a total of 14 million tons of oil equivalent in reserves. The company continues systematic geological surveys in southern Kazakhstan to replenish the region's resource base. In 2020, Priority Oil & Gas conducted its first 2D seismic survey using the super-dense technique, covering 200 lin.km, as well as a 110-square-kilometer 3D seismic survey. Additionally, over 15,000 meters were drilled for exploratory purposes, with six wells completed and ongoing testing of prospective facilities.

By the end of 2019, Priority Oil & Gas completed 155 exploratory wells onshore in Russia, nearly doubling the number in 2020. The company achieved its highest-ever success rate in geological exploration, with an impressive 86% success rate. In addition, 7,000 lin.km of 2D seismic surveys and 10,000 square km of 3D seismic surveys were completed, representing significant increases over 2019. Advanced programs were developed to assess geological indicators like vibration level, drilling speed, and bit load, allowing real-time rock composition estimations. During industrial testing, the company achieved a 70% accuracy rate in predicting rock changes following well drilling.
